SUTTON, Mass. - The Sutton Sammies got a basket from Zach Brogie with just 10 seconds left in the game to come from behind and beat Blackstone-Millville, 50-49, on Tuesday night in Blackstone.
Sutton was led once again by Mac Roy who lead all scorers with 25 points, including hitting five baskets from three point range. Brogie finished with 12 points for the Sammies who outscored Blackstone-Millville 5-0 down the stretch.
But it wasn't without drama as Blackstone-Millville missed a free-throw with just 1.3 seconds left to preserve the win.
Sutton led at the half by eight at 25-17 before Blackstone-Millville turned the heat up in the third quarter to lead by two heading into the final quarter.
Kevin Gautreau paced the Chargers with 20 points, with David O'Connor and and Sean Stone each chipping in nine.
With the victory, Sutton broke its six game losing streak. The Sammies had dropped 9 of their last 10 dating back to the beginning of 2012.
