MILLBURY, Mass. - The Lords Builders Mission Trip Team from the Millbury Federated Church are leaving on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:00 p.m., for the duration of February school vacation, returning Sunday Feb 26.
They are excited and proud to send 26 missionaries to the Friendship AME Zion Church in Greenville, Alabama. Their main project will be the installation of roof trusses and sheathing. It is in an area where several burnings have occurred and racial tension is high. In an area where racial tensions can be extremely high, they instead plan to be builders of strong relationships as well as strong buildings.
In the past, the MFC has sent building missions and have helped to rebuild churches in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.
Last year they were led to a church here in Massachusetts, the Macedonia Church of God in Christ, in Springfield. It was burned down the day after President Obama was elected to office as an angry act of racial bigotry. The Lord's Builders have in common a desire to bring good out of evil.
These mission trips are paid for entirely by fundraisers and donations please support The Lord's Builders with a tax deductible donation, please send a check or money order made payable to The Lord's Builders, c/o Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main Street, Millbury, MA 01527.

According to Sherry Forleo who has been on three of the Lords Builders Mission Trips with her teens, the young people involved were all infused with great energy for the project. They had the most amazing working, and spiritually bonding experience helping to repair churches. When they return home, the most common thing heard is “Let’s do that again!”. The Millbury Federated Church has fundraisers going on year-round to help fund these building projects.

The people we meet down in the southern states get so overwhelmed with appreciation, that such a team of people find a way to reach them from New England, to help congregations get back into their churches. This is such a spiritually fulfilling journey for the team to take every year, to fulfill God's work.
